Important Royal Development Projects

1. Sufficiency Economy Philosophy
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great has expressed as a guideline by which the Thai people should lead their lives more than 30 years before the economic crisis in 1998. It stresses the middle path, especially in economic development, to keep pace with globalization.
2. The Soil Aggravation Project
“Klaeng Din” is a royal initiative of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great to solve the acid soil problem, it is done by keeping water in the area until a chemical reaction causes the soil to become very acidic. In the end, the water is drained and the soil is treated with lime until the soil can be used for cultivation
3. Royal Vetiver Grass Project
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great began to investigate. His Majesty came across a World Bank white paper called “Vetiver Grass: the Hedge against Erosion.” His Majesty thought vetiver grass could help stop soil erosion.
4. Royal Rainmaking Project
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great decided, in 1955, to devote himself to studying and researching ways and means of creating artificial rainmaking techniques, donating a contribution from his private funds to launch the Royal Rainmaking Project.
5. The Chaipattana Aerator
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s invention, is very effective in treating polluted water and improving the environment. As a result, the aerator was patented in His Majesty’s name in 1993, the first time in the history of Thailand and the world that a monarch has been granted a patent.
6. The Royal Chitralada Projects
were established from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s private funds. There are two main types of projects, i.e. non-business unit, which focuses on enhancing agricultural production, and the semi-business unit which includes Chitralada Dairy Farm, Suan Dusit Powdered Milk Factory, and Chitralada Honey Farm.
7. Ananda Mahidol Foundation
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great graciously bestowed the royal crown of his property Ananda Mahidol Foundation was established in 1959 to provide students with an outstanding academic record. 8. The Thai Encyclopedia for Youth Project
The Thai Encyclopedia for Youth Project was initiated under the royal intention of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, featuring several fields and disciplines. They are available in both hard copies and online versions, with 37 normal editions and 20 editions of learning supplements.
9. Royal Medical Team Project
During the Royal visits to the rural areas, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great found that a large population are deprived of adequate health care services. His Majesty then initiated the Royal Medical Team Project in 1967.
