Soap-Making Workshop: A Collaboration Between School of Biotech and Com. Arts
The workshop aimed to provide participants with hands-on experience in crafting soap, combining the scientific principles of biotechnology with the creative aspects of communication art. The event featured detailed demonstrations and step-by-step guidance on the soap-making process, ensuring that all attendees, regardless of their background, could follow along and create their own customized soaps.
Experts from Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology shared their knowledge on the chemical processes involved in soap production, including the selection of natural ingredients, the importance of proper measurements, and the role of various additives for scent and texture. Meanwhile, instructors from Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts emphasized the creative side, guiding participants in designing unique soap shapes, colors, and packaging.
The workshop was not only educational but also a fun and interactive experience, fostering a sense of community and collaboration between the two schools. Participants left with their handmade soaps and a deeper understanding of both the scientific and artistic elements of soap-making.
This successful event is expected to pave the way for future interdisciplinary collaborations, enriching the educational experiences of students from both schools.
