Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother was born on August 12, 1932, as M.R. Sirikit Kitiyakara, the eldest daughter of H.S.H. Prince Nakkatra Mangala, later made H.R.H. Prince Chandaburi Suranath, and M.L. Bua Kitiyakara, at the home of her maternal grandfather Chao Phraya Wngsanupraphat, M.R. Sathan Snidvongs, at No. 1808 Rama VI Road, Wang Mai Subdistrict, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok. She was named by King Prajadhipok, Rama VII, as “Sirikit,” meaning “The Splendor of the Kitiyakara Family.”
